Wise Woman Sunday is a single day retreat option for those unable to attend the four day Mother Tree Retreat.

We are expanding our circle for the day to include mothers with babies or anyone else in the community looking for a step away from your day-to-day responsibilities and immerse yourself in nature and nourishment. This retreat is designed to refill your mothering cup and offer you the opportunity to be held and inspired by the collective wisdom and support of other mothers gathering in community.

come sit under the mother tree with us

Mother Trees are like the Matriarchs of the forest. They are the wise ones, the guardians, and the protectors - capable of holding our hearts, our tears, and our dreams for how to revision our lives as we evolve and grow.

Mother Trees play a critical role in the health and communication of the greater ecosystem, using an underground network of mycorrhizal fungi to share nutrients, water, and information with surrounding trees, particularly younger seedlings. Through this network, they support the growth of saplings, even those of other species, by transferring essential nutrients like nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus. In times of environmental stress (e.g., drought, pests), mother trees send chemical signals through the fungal network to warn other trees, allowing them to prepare, and adapt as resilient being. Mother trees are way-showers, modeling strength and sturdiness over the course of time as well as the interconnectedness of all life.

We can look to the Mother Tree for guidance and support in our mothering journey. We can reach out through our “underground networks” and connect with the wisdom o the Earth and each other to help us expand our sense of kin and support our capacity to hold so much. . .  We are not meant to do this on our own.

Collective Wisdom

The Mother Tree Retreat will be co-hosted by Join Kerrie Martin and Sarah Uhl at the stunning Beyul Retreat center in Western Colorado. Sunday’s program will feature a Wise Woman Panel Discussion, led by local matriarchs, healers, mothers and grandmothers in our community. Our larger circle of mothers will offer its own collective wisdom, with many opportunities to learn from mothers at different stages of their journey and the inquires dearest to their hearts at this moment.

testimonials for Sarah and Kerrie

I signed up for Sarah’s retreat because I have admired her painting style for years and I wanted to meet her and learn from her. It turns out, the retreat was so much more than learning a new painting style. It was a balm for my soul and a safe space to manifest my dream of becoming a mother, as well as a more confident artist and connected human being. As I write this testimonial, I am watching it snow out the window with my 2 month old son sleeping on my chest. It was an incredible few days at avalanche ranch and I am looking forward to the next retreat.”
-Sarah Carpenter from Idaho

“Sarah is an amazing artist, teacher, and human. She creates a space that allows for both connection and reflection. She weaves her web of nurturing at multiple levels, offering us the opportunity to access beauty in the physical forms of nourishment as well as tending to our inner landscapes. I had high expectations, and quite honestly, they were exceeded. It was all of my favorite things in a multi-day feast for the senses and heart.”-Alyssa from Wisconsin

“Thank you for all the preparation, planning, and forethought. Thank you for your calm and centered energy. Thank you for the details you attended to throughout the entire experience. Thank you for being open and vulnerable yourself, making it easy for others to do the same. Thank you for sharing your time, your family and yourself. The overall feeling each day was one of being nourished, being held, being taken care of. This was exactly what I needed.”

-Karalea from California

Kerrie- thank you for being so generous with your time and knowledge. You made me feel so validated and empowered to take steps toward healing. I'm realizing that the restrictions I put on myself were a form of self-loathing which doesn't allow space for radical self care or improved health. You've been such a catalyst to get me on this journey, I really can't thank you enough!  --- Sarah, Photographer, Aspen, CO

My experience working with Kerrie has been such a unique experience.  Kerrie filled my life with a safe space to express myself without judgement.  She demonstrates so eloquently with her words and listening ear how through the power of allowing that even I could radically shift my life in many more ways than just my health.  But a fundamental shift in how I connect to my heart and live from that place.  I learned that less is more, not just in nature but in my entire life.  Today I now choose to live by that mantra.  Less is more.  I wish for anyone who is seeking a gentle yet profound experience to work with Kerrie on steping into the possibility of healing!       --- J. Krafft, Licensed Massage Therapist, Austin, TX

Kerrie - first, I know I say it often, but I really do feel truly blessed to have a teacher like you in my life. Working with you has been so incredibly healing and empowering, I would not quite know where to even begin. You have helped me to start to see, and love, myself for who I really am. You have helped me learn how to listen to what is in my heart, and ask what it is I am really craving from my life. Through all of this a new kindness has entered my life. A kindness towards myself and my journey. A self love has emerged, one that I had never really known how to show or how to feel for that matter. You have helped me learn to trust who I am and the path that I am following, and that the answers I am looking for are always right below the surface, within me, waiting for me to listen. So thank you for that. Thank you for your kindness, wisdom and compassion, for being a part of my life and my healing journey.
