Drop in for a half day of creative inspiration and connection to nature during the peak of Spring in the Roaring Fork Valley! This workshop is designed to empower your creative spirit and nourish your connection to nature in the most abundant season of the year. We will cover watercolor painting fundamentals, how we perceive ourselves creatively and what makes us come alive in nature through journaling and meditation. We will begin in downtown Carbondale (location to be announced.) The second half of the workshop will be at a nearby trailhead or natural area (1-5 miles away depending upon conditions). Only a short walk will be required. We will be using our time to relax into the landscape and ourselves.

In the event of rain or other weather, the workshop will relocate to Sarah’s Jailhouse studio in downtown Carbondale.

No previous painting experience necessary.

In this workshop we will cover:

• grounding meditation to connect with nature

• journaling activity about Spring Season

• watercolor fundamentals (color mixing, layering, and choosing your palette)

• plein air landscape painting fundamentals (tools, set up and considerations for painting outdoors)

• sketching and choosing your perspective

• artistic style and artistic voice

• loosening up your style to invite a playful and imaginative element through color, scale, or illustrative elements

• 9 color Mini-palette of handmade Greenleaf Blueberry paints

• Creative supply kit from Sarah (watercolor brushes, ink pens, paper, and everything we will need for the day)
